Each treatment plan is tailored to the specific individual or couple. Below are the therapeutic approaches in which I am trained/informed and most often utilize. Each of these modalities is an evidence based practice. This means it has been studied extensively and shown through empirical research to be efficacious.
CBT is a cornerstone of my therapeutic approach, particularly for clients struggling with anxiety, panic disorders, and performance-related stress. In our sessions, we work together to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to your distress. By understanding the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, we can develop practical strategies to shift your mindset and behavior. Whether you’re dealing with social anxiety, generalized anxiety, or perfectionism, CBT offers tools that you can apply in your daily life to reduce anxiety and improve your overall well-being.
DBT is especially effective for clients who need help regulating intense emotions and navigating interpersonal conflicts. I incorporate DBT techniques to help you develop skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through our work, you’ll learn to manage overwhelming emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and improve your relationships. This approach is particularly beneficial for clients who experience mood swings, difficulty in relationships, or a pervasive sense of emptiness.
EMDR is a powerful method for clients dealing with trauma, anxiety, and distressing memories. In our sessions, we use bilateral stimulation—typically eye movements—to help your brain process and integrate traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge. This technique allows you to reprocess difficult experiences without having to extensively talk about them. EMDR is particularly effective for clients with PTSD, panic attacks, or those who feel stuck in their healing journey.
IFS is a transformative approach for clients who struggle with internal conflict or feel fragmented by different parts of themselves. In our sessions, we explore these internal parts—such as the inner critic, the protector, or the wounded exile.
EFT helps you and your partner identify and express your emotional needs in a way that fosters connection and healing. We focus on understanding the underlying emotions driving conflict and miscommunication, helping you both move from patterns of disconnection to deeper intimacy and trust. EFT is ideal for couples facing communication issues, emotional distance, or recurring conflicts that threaten their relationship’s stability.
